Dental Implant FAQs

At our Wisconsin dental implant office, Dr. Peter Lotowski welcomes all kinds of questions about dental implants. No question is too small or insignificant to deserve a thoughtful, comprehensive answer.

Our entire team believes it's important to share as much information with you as possible. We want you to participate in the treatment planning process and feel confident as the plan is implemented. We feel that you will be less likely to be fearful or intimidated by treatment, and more likely to feel relaxed and comfortable during the process, when you are well-informed about the procedures.

How much will my implants cost?

Since no two patients are exactly alike, dental implant costs do vary. Dr. Lotowski meets with every patient individually for an initial consultation and assessment. Next, he provides a customized treatment plan that outlines the scope of treatment, the number of dental implants needed and the specific system he plans to use. These factors ultimately influence the total cost of dental implant treatment.

We can't accurately estimate your treatment costs until you see the doctors. In the meantime, however, we can assure you that we will work with you and your budget to offer different options at various price points; and if necessary, discuss financing options such as CareCredit or Springstone patient financing. We want you to feel comfortable and confident with the investment you're making in your dental health!

Our staff would be happy to speak with you about dental implants cost. For more specific information on pricing and financing options, please call Wisconsin Dental Solutions at (608) 834-6321.

Will implant placement hurt?

With Dr. Lotowski's experience and expertise, we can confidently say that we practice "pain-free, no-fear dentistry." We offer several types of sedation dentistry designed to reduce stress and anxiety and make your entire experience more pleasant.

In fact, our patients are usually surprised at how easy implant placement is. Many of them have told us that, based on their pleasant experience, they wished they had their implants placed sooner! Click here to read our patient reviews.

When can I return to work?

You will be able to return to work soon after your implant placement. Depending on the scope of your treatment, you may be able to return to work right after your appointment, or you may want to take the rest of the day off to recuperate, relax, and return well rested and refreshed the next day.

Regardless of when you choose to return to work, we will review all post-operative guidelines with you before you leave your appointment. We will go over how to care for the implant site, the best foods to eat and other helpful instructions for a smooth and complication-free recovery.

Will I be able to drive myself to/from my appointment?

Your ability to drive yourself to and from your appointment depends on whether you choose sedation dentistry. Many of our patients choose sedation dentistry to calm their fears and anxieties.

If you receive nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") during your treatment, the effects wear off almost immediately, allowing you to drive yourself safely to and from your appointment.

However, if you take an oral sedative prior to your appointment or receive IV sedation, under no circumstances should you drive. You will need to arrange for someone to accompany and drive you to and from your appointment.
